How-To Add Cousins to the Pedigree
How-To Add Cousins to the Pedigree
There are a number of methods to build a family pedigree, see the Quick Start Guide.
Cousins can be added as follows:
- Add the number of aunts and uncles using the 'Family - Building Options' dialog (shown below) which opens when you first enter the 'Family History' section and select 'OPTION 2'. Alternatively, you can add the number of aunts and uncles in the 'Edit Family' menu on the right-hand side of the 'Family History' section once you have started building your pedigree.
- Then mouse-over the aunt or uncle, in the pedigree, that is the parent of the cousin. This reveals widgets that can be used to add family members (shown in the table below).
Table of Widgets - Use the widget to add a partner. This creates the partner and a child (the cousin - male by default).
The sex of the individual can be changed by clicking on that individual and updating it in the ‘Individual’s Details' section on the right hand side. - Additional cousins can be added using the widgets to either (a) 'add a child' to the parent or (b) 'add a sibling' to the cousin.
