In order for CanRisk tool to generate breast and ovarian cancer risks, the target (the index or subject of the calculation) must be either:
- a female who is unaffected by cancer, or
- a female who has developed one breast cancer only.
As a result, cancer risks will not be computed if the target has developed other cancers, or the target is male.
In addition the algorithm calculates breast and ovarian cancer risks to the maximum age of 80. Therefore, cancer risks will not be calculated if the age of the target of 80 years or greater.
